Welsh and Bristolian but South London living multi-instrumentalist, composer and vocalist Charlie Pughe adapts his classical upbringing with an experimental sound, that remains unsettled in any one particular genre.
Altering his practice to think of harmony as less theoretical has created an emphasis on the unique and nuanced aspects of his songwriting. Combining the importance he gives to the alternative with a passion for worldly grit and struggle,
In 2021, having written but not produced anything in the first two years of music school at Goldsmiths University of London, he issued his first EP, ‘Interacting with Strangers’ featuring frequent collaborator Logan Aspin.
Following a year of introspective writing born out of a desire for a new sound, there is now a whole catalogue of fast breaks and nostalgia, told through a mixture of spoken word, prose and melody.
Saint Ronnie
Saint Ronnie is a London based alternative performance act. His music often explores character driven narratives with occasional tongue in cheek lyrics and hints on a taste for the bizarre. Drawing on folk and blues music, Saint Ronnie presents a nerve-racking blend of seriousness and humor, tenderness and discomfort.
